Community Events

The Kingston Potters’ Guild offers and participates in a variety of community events every year. here you’ll find highlights of some of our activities.

Martha’s Table – Empty Bowls Fundraiser

Martha’s Table is a soup kitchen where Kingston residents who are down on theirOriginal Pottery of Ikuko Hall luck, can have a nourishing meal. Martha’s Table relies on donations of food and money to provide food and pay expenses.

Their major fundraiser, “Empty Bowls”, takes place each fall.  At this community event, you can choose a one-of-a- kind hand made bowl and have a meal of gourmet soups and bread.

The Kingston Potters’ Guild and other Kingston area potters have donated bowls for this event for many years. Food is donated by Kingston’s finest eating establishments. It is a wonderful way to support a good cause, have a great meal and obtain a hand made bowl.

Culture Days

culture-daysThe Kingston Potters’ Guild participated in the city-wide Culture Days, a community event held annually on a weekend in September. We had tours of the studio, demonstrations on the wheel and  provided opportunities for people to make things out of clay. The event was well  attended.

Christmas Ornament Making

ornament20121Parents and children take part in our Christmas Ornament making session. We first offered this community event in 2012 and it has become an annual event. With guidance from some of our Guild potters, families make colourful ornaments that can be used at home or given as gifts.


Queen’s University Enrichment Studies Program

In May of 2013 and 2014 the Kinqueensenrich2013gston Potters’ Guild partnered with the Queen’s University Enrichment Studies Summer Program for Grades 7 and 8.
